Description

Just four, beautifully-crafted boutique king-size rooms created within the historic Custom House on Poole Quay. Each room offers spacious, airy accommodation with luxurious en-suite bathrooms, large walk-in showers and contemporary fittings. It’s the perfect spot for enjoying Poole Quay and its many charming hostelries and quality restaurants, and a fine base for exploring the Georgian Old Town, or enjoying ferry trips to Brownsea Island and Sandbanks from Poole Quay. Stroll along the water’s edge and enjoy the wide-open spaces of Harbourside Park with panoramic views across Poole Harbour. A short walk in the opposite direction via the Old Lifting Bridge brings visitors to Hamworthy Park, with its charming sandy beach, café and children’s recreation area. With so much to see and do, you are sure to return again and again!

‘Brownsea’ is an extremely spacious room which benefits from views of the harbour and period features including the old fireplace, with comfortable seating and a smart TV with freeview. Kingsize (5ft) bed, desk / dressing table, fitted wardrobe and ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower, sink, toilet, mirror and shaver point. Beds are made up with crisp white linen and fluffy white towels are provided. (The Brownsea Room may be occupied with a link to The Hawkhurst Room - great for families).

Custom House Poole guest rooms also enjoy exclusive access to a small private conservatory style seating area which overlooks the Quayside, where drinks can be ordered via an app from the ground floor restaurant and bar. Access to the Custom House Poole rooms is on Paradise Street and a staircase to the first floor.

Breakfast - is available (at guest cost) in the Custom House restaurant on the ground floor. Choices include continental, waffles, granola, smashed avocado, eggs benedict and the full English!

Dining out - A fine gastronomic selection of restaurants is available on the doorstep, with the popular Custom House Poole on the ground floor (cafe, bar and bistro), Da Vinci’s well-regarded Italian restaurant next door, Pi (for great pizzas), French cuisine at the St Tropez Lounge and Cornish seafood at Rockfish. There's a choice of Thai restaurants in the lower High Street - Nusara, Sakuna Khrua and Flavours of Asia, each distinctly different but all offering quality dining for discerning guests, Valona wood-fired pizzeria ... and many more excellent choices, too!

Location

POOLE OLD TOWN - Georgian Maritime History... Poole`s Georgian Old Town is steeped in history. The recently extended Museum in the Lower High Street tells of Poole’s earliest development as a port sheltered within the World’s second largest natural harbour, and of its extensive trade links with Newfoundland. If you want to explore Poole to the full, leave your car behind and join the Cockle Trail – a walking tour of the Old Town, which tells visitors how Poole Town developed into the flourishing destination you see today.

Dear Ella and colleagues, We have had a fabulous stay in our faultless accomodation enjoying non-stop glorious, albeit very chilly, January sunshine. Thank you to the maintenance team, especially Marcus who maintains the accomodation, for ensuring we kept 'toasty' warm. But most of all, thank you to Ella, who co-ordinated everything throughout our mid-winter stay. Ella is so professional and helpful, that we even began to wonder if Ella is actually able to switch on the sunshine for her special holiday let guests! 🌞

Spacious, clean room right on the quay. Bed was comfortable. A key box would make it even easier to access. Would stay again.
