Location

CANFORD HEATH - With Dorset's largest heathland area. It’s just 3 miles north of Poole town centre with easy access to open countryside, and still only a car ride to great local beaches too. It’s perfect for a Sunday stroll and a convenient base from which to access the market town of Wimborne Minster, and the National Trust’s Kingston Lacy.

The 344 hectares of Canford Heath are a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest. Canford Heath has a real wilderness feel and you can easily spend two hours walking or cycling around its many paths. The Heath is an attractive mix of open heather heathland and broadleaf woodland. The upper sections are generally dry, but lower valleys can be boggy after rain.
Keep a lookout for the wildlife. The Dartford Warbler has made an encouraging comeback after years of decline. There are dragonflies, damselflies and each of the six species of British reptile. There are entrances to Canford Heath at Gravel Hill lay-by and on Culliford Crescent and Francis Avenue. The nearest postcode is BH21 3BW. There is limited parking on roads near this reserve.
Dog walkers should keep their pets on a short lead near livestock and during the bird breeding season from 1 March to 31 July.

It was nice to feel comfortable & a good base to travel around the area from, we hope to return! The house was amazing, everything we needed was supplied, a welcome tray of tea coffee etc and a lovely bottle of wine, towels were soft and plenty of them, beds were very comfortable.

We had a great stay at the property and were very impressed with the high standard, for your information we found the front door bell didn't work and the bathroom toilet discharged into the bowl constantly

The house was clean, well maintained, well equipped and modern and also very spacious. It was in a easy to reach and quiet residential area. The beds (a total of 6 beds spread out over 4 bedrooms) were comfortable. There were two bathrooms (1x with shower and really good water pressure, 1x with bath) and an additional guest toilet. We felt very comfortable there. The house has its own parking space and also a small garden. The house was rented out by an agency with which the communication worked well. All major hints were provided in advance via app/online application. In the event of a technical problem, the agency was available every day - even on Sundays - and took care quickly. It was great. We would go there again and again and can only recommend it.

We stayed here whilst our house was being repaired after a leak. The house was very spacious. The toys were a great touch, my 8 year old and 4 year old absolutely loved them. My son also loved the parrot room. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone who wants a staycation down in Dorset.

Lovely roomy house. Nice furnishing and exceptionally clean. Felt at home! We have had a wonderful holiday, very restful. Lots to see and do. Many long walks on beaches and countryside. New Forest well worth a visit as it a trip to Swanage via chain ferry and trip to Brownsea Island by ferry from Poole Quay. Cafe's at beaches are all very clean and distanced. We will definitely come again - Winter or Summer! Thank you.

Thank you so much for letting us stay the last 3 months over the Covid-19 pandemic allowing us to work at the hospital during this time. Despite the pandemic we have had many happy times in this house - a lovely location to location to spend a lockdown in.

We stayed here for 2 months whilst purchasing a new home 100 metres away. The house very comfortable and suited us great. Close to shops, bus route, club and pub! Beautiful beds, linen and towels. Bonus that we were allowed to have our dog here as well.

Wow, a home from home! So clean and modern, just what our family needed to relax for a week! Local area is nice, shops are close and we managed to get an ASDA online delivery on day 7.It's summer holidays, so wherever we went was busy but we had a fantastic tim. National Trust members, Kingston Lacy is a must! Studland bay (Knoll beach) was lovely but very cramped. Splashdown was great. We had a fab time, thank you!

Our holiday home was first rate, we paid a bit more than we usually would but certainly got our money's worth. The property was amazing and soptlessly clean, the equipment was fantastic and we had all we needed for a relaxing stay. There was lots to do all well within 1 hours drive. Days out were not hard to come by.

We had a fantastic time at Heath Reach in Poole. The house. Wow, the pictures don't really do the house justice as it really is a high quality home from home. We loved the decor in the house, the fixture and fittings all very high quality and a little bit different, very modern and bright. Our kids loved playing in the play room which was so well kitted out with toys and games for all ages. The kitchen is fantastic, very modern with everything you need and more. There is a big dining table and everything you could possibly need to make a feast for a large family. Beds super comfortable, shower was lovely, deep fluffy towels and the kids loved the family bathroom. Our little boy was particularly fond of the cool Roald Dahl themed bedroom, and we appreciated luxury double bedroom ensuite (great hairdryer too!). The area. There are some lovely walks to enjoy from the house. We really enjoyed exploring the Heath, which is lovely;every time we took a different route one time finding a nice play ground area. We also made the most of the bowling and local shops. While you can't walk to the beach just 5 mins in the car can get you to larger supermarkets, shopping and the lovely Quay harbourside. A little further on and you can explore beautiful beaches like Sandbanks and the stunning Isle of Purbeck. Highly recommend paying for the ferry (£4.50) and visiting this area as its stunning. It is expensive to park (£9 unless a national trust member) but we thought well worth it. Overall I would highly recommend staying at Heath Reach we had a wonderful stay.

What a gorgeous house - stayed with my husband, his mum and my dad for the weekend and we had such a lovely time. We stay in Poole and surrounding areas regularly as we have a boat down here and this is definitely one of the nicest houses we’ve stayed at; well decorated and immaculate throughout. Will definitely be back. Thanks for a great stay

Lovely house and great week in and around Poole. The heath is beautiful in the sun and easy to access - parking just behind Asda. We even ventured to Portsmouth for a day out - just over an hour by car. We cannot wait to come back to Heath Reach
